KCDM Revitalization Continues

I have good news to share about the past and even better news about our future. We are approaching our 12th broadcasting year and we are taking steps to ensure Burlington Catholic Radio is broadcasting loud and clear for the next decade.

Burlington is priveleged because KCDM is one of only almost 300 Catholic Radio stations in the country. Our station and its Revitalization efforts received the blessing of Bishop Martin Amos when he visited Burlington in March, but we are completey independent of the Diocese. Translation: They think Catholic Radio a great idea, but we receive no Diocesan support. We are funded by you, our listeners, and we continue to need your help.

We see in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible Angels taking messages from God and delivering them to his people. In particular, we see the Angels appearing to the Shepherds after the birth of the Christ Child, announcing their tidings of great Joy and a message of Salvation. We have that same opportunity to be messengers of God today.

Pope John Paul II spoke of a New Evangelization 30 years ago and KCDM was born of that calling. KCDM will reach more than 25,000 people with the good news of Jesus Christ and the Church he himself founded on the Apostle Peter. I invite you to become ‘Radio Active’ with us, sharing in this Sacred Ministry of the Angels and helping spread this news of Great Joy. If you’ve ever wondered "What can I do" to spread God’s Word, please know that it’s easy.

Let me explain how you can become an Angel in the Catholic Radio ‘Army of Angels’.

Our new facility is up and running thanks to you. Our challenge going forward is raising enough money to keep the electricity on and paying the insurance and other overhead required to keep any business liquid.

Below you can see how your contributions were used in our station revitalization plan. We actually we able to come in under budget thanks to very giving supporter who donated various components of the building's construction. Our next challenge is to upgrade the aging equipment and software that keeps the daily programming on track and on schedule. Without getting modern equipment, we cannot offer new and local programming to our listeners.

As a reminder, we are a Non-Profit organization. Your pledges are Tax-Deductible and every year we will mail the appropriate documents to Donors.

Now, the easiest way you can become an Angel for KCDM is by making a donation. If you would like to make a larger donation, but don’t have the money right now, please consider making a recurring monthly pledge. For example, giving only 20 dollars per month for 12 months ads up to a $240 contribution. To put the potential of your support in perspective, if half of the registered Parish families pledged $20 a month for a year, we could raise nearly $250,000. That is a huge impact from such a small sacrifice.

A gift of any amount, any time, will be greatly appreciated and put to good use. Our address and phone number is printed at the bottom of this page.

Take some time to pray and reflect on your donation. You can mail us a check when you can. We will be here. You can also make a donation by clicking the button at the top of this page, using your Credit Card or Paypal.

I'd like to leave you with one last thought. The only thing you get to take to heaven, is what you give away while you are on this earth. Just as the message from the Angels to the Shepherds resounds to this day, affecting, changing and converting lives for the Lord Jesus Christ. The donation you make today will not only benefit our generation, but generations to come, as the Good News of Jesus Christ continues to be proclaimed on the Catholic airwaves.

Whether you can afford to support KCDM financially or not, we encourage you to listen to the station and pray that the Holy Spirit may guide us as we work to keep KCDM on the air for another decade. The Catholic Radio Association has designated August 14th the "5th Annual Day of Prayer for Catholic Radio". Please pray for our continued success.

I thank you for taking the time to read this far down. We have brochures, bumper stickers and fridge magnets. Word of Mouth is the best, and cheapest, advertising we can get. Tell your friends. More importantly, tell your enemies. They may need Catholic Radio more then they know.

If you would like a bumper sticker, send us an email from the Contact Page

Pledge cards will be available in the back of all Des Moines County churches. Please send us an email if you have any questions. Thank You for your Prayers and support.

May God Bless you all.
